TUFF-N-DRI Waterproofing

North America's # 1 Brand of Waterproofing For New Basements

Provides a flexible coating over the wall which will bridge cracks up to 1/16 inch.
Exceptional bonding even on damp substrate and green concrete.
Completely seamless thus preventing traditional seam failure of sheet goods.
The Warm-N-Dri board Insulates the basement which in turn reduces heating costs.
Warm-N-Dri board acts as a protection for the coating, preventing damage from backfilling
Warm-N-Dri board provides quick drainage away from the wall.

3. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Basic Use:
TUFF-N-DRI Exterior Foundation Waterproofing System consists of a single component fluid-applied membrane combined with a rigid fiberglass insulation board for vertical below grade concrete or masonry foundation walls.

Composition:
TUFF-N-DRI Membrane is a polymer-modified asphalt that is fluid applied. WARM-N-DRI Board is an unfaced, rigid fiberglass board having protection, drainage, and insulation characteristics.

Benefits:
- TUFF-N-DRI Membrane forms a tough, resilient elastomeric film that will bridge non-structural cracks commonly found in concrete substrates.
- TUFF-N-DRI Membrane can be applied as soon as the concrete forms are pulled or the mortar is dry.
- TUFF-N-DRI Monolithic coating on the substrate eliminates any concern for seams, wrinkles, or "fish-mouths" in waterproofing membrane.
- WARM-N-DRI insulation/drainage board protects TUFF-N-DRI membrane during construction backfilling.
- WARM-N-DRI board acts as a drainage medium to prevent hydrostatic pressure from building up on the foundation walls.
- WARM-N-DRI board adds thermal resistance (R-5 per normal 1" thickness).

Limitations:
- Should not be exposed to sunlight for more than 15 days.
- Should only be applied to substrates with a surface temperature above 20° F.
- If WARM-N-DRI board is installed above grade it must have an exterior covering.
- TUFF-N-DRI membrane and WARM-N-DRI board are not designed for horizontal use.

5. INSTALLATION

Preparation:
- The wall surface should be smooth and monolithic. Remove loose aggregate and sharp protrusions from the wall. Voids, spalled areas and exposed aggregate should be patched with a suitable mastic before spraying.
- TUFF-N-DRI membrane does not require any priming or special preparation.

Application:
- TUFF-N-DRI membrane is sprayed evenly over entire foundation wall. The WARM-N-DRI board is applied over the waterproofing membrane as it cures.
- TUFF-N-DRI basement waterproofing system can be applied when ambient temperatures are as low as 20° F, allowing for fewer construction delays. TUFF-N-DRI membrane may be applied on poured concrete and block foundations. On poured concrete basements, TUFF-N-DRI can be applied as soon as the forms are removed, and on block basements, as soon as the mortar is dry.

6. FOUNDATION BOARD PERFORMANCE -- ( WARM-N-DRI )

Insulation:
- WARM-N-DRI foundation board keeps foundation wall temperatures closer to the air temperature of the basement, which helps reduce interior condensation. Reduced condensation ensures less humid, more comfortable basement space.
- The WARM-N-DRI board on the exterior of the foundation wall helps reduce the risk of damage due to freeze/thaw cycles.
Protection:
- WARM-N-DRI board protects the TUFF-N-DRI membrane from damage during backfilling or damage from other construction trades.
- Compressibility of WARM-N-DRI board will absorb moderate soil expansion and help protect the basement wall.
Drainage:
- For drainage the WARM-N-DRI board should extend to the footing and connect to a functioning perimeter drainage system.
- The WARM-N-DRI board is required for all warranted TUFF-N-DRI basement waterproofing system installations.
